There are many people out in Singapore but yet, it’s so hard to find someone that “appeals” to me. Who to observe? Why did they catch my eye? So, this is new to me, observing people for an actual reason/ assignment. Pardon if it gets boring. But then again, this might be YOU I’m watching. So hold your tongue.
Numero Uno:
There was this Indian man and, maybe, his child. This was in a MRT, packed as always. He was holding a plastic file, the kind that every young kid would be bringing to school. It was clad in Tom and Jerry stickers. Tell me, where do i find these kind of stickers? I’ve gotta get me some of those…So I’m looking at Tom chasing Jerry, Tom posing, Jerry tying a dynamite onto Tom’s tail, et cetera.
They were standing and so when there was an empty seat near them, the Indian man jumped at the chance to let the young boy sit.
This got me thinking; does it take people to become parents to bring out their responsible side? Doesn’t every parent instinctively “chop” those seats for their kids? When I was younger, my parents definitely fit into that stereotype. “Eh, girl, empty seat! Sit there! Sit there!”
When they alighted at City Hall, the Indian man, like a shepard, immediately herded the boy out of the train. He also kinda reminded me of a huge eagle protecting a young baby under a wing.
Ah, love. What more need I say?
Numero Dos:
There is this old lady. Her eyes are constantly glued to the ground. She has large eyebags and her mouth is set in a thin line.
Her face looks tired and strained from the weight of the many plastic bags she has hanging from her arms. She is definitely carrying more than she can. Her long, grey hair is tied up in a thick, neat bun.
Every step she takes are shuffled and sound heavy. I’m guessing her age is about 70. However, her whole demeanor and the way she presents herself probably makes her look older than she actually is. Tired of life, maybe? Who wouldn’t be?
